The Camden Group are celebrating their silver anniversary this summer! The company has changed considerably over 25 years and are now considered to be one of the largest manufacturers of PVCu windows, doors and conservatories within the UK and Ireland.
The Beginning: The company was founded by Patrick Lavery in 1983, and was originally known as Camden Frames. Based in the Steeple Industrial Estate in Antrim, the company worked out of rented premises with a workforce of only thirty people; producing 250 frames per week and available in only two colours: white and mahogany.
Family Run: In 1993 Kieran Lavery took over the position of Managing Director, with Brian Lavery taking on the role of Financial Director. Under the leadership of Kieran Lavery, Camden Group diversified their product range, invested heavily in technology and concentrated on the trade market. With the new strategy in place, the Camden Group began its astounding growth, and in less than 15 years the Camden Group has developed into one of the UK and Ireland’s largest manufacturers of PVCu windows, doors, conservatories and glass.
25 Years in Business: Camden in 2008 operate across 4 sites and have the ability to manufacture 16,000 frames per week in 18 colours, and with an A, B or C energy rating. Camden also offers online ordering and eBanking, something that would never have been thought of 25 years ago! And of course one of the most highly visible and recognisable symbols of the Camden Group is its fleet of over 20 lorries, delivering across Ireland and the UK.
